Holly’s school captain speech

So proud of our girl who wrote this on her own xx

Hi I’m Holly Freeman and I am currently in 5F. I would absolutely love to be given the opportunity of becoming your 2019  Livingstone Primary School school captain

This  leadership role  is something I have dreamed about doing for quite a while now and I really believe I would be great at it for many reasons. To start with I love public speaking. I love that I would be able to help make positive changes in our school. I have contributed in many school activities, I have had experience with younger students, I have a big passion for helping those in need, and finally I love love love being a student at this School.

Firstly I am proud to be a part of Livingstone because we are always finding ways to fundraise and help people and places who don't have as much money as we do. I am really passionate about helping the homeless and especially homeless children. It makes me really sad to think that there are kids just like us who are part of this issue as well. We so incredibly lucky to have what we have. Nobody deserves to be living on the streets with no home. Being school captain I would love to be able to use this role to raise money to help those in need.

I love how our school comes together for our school fete, Its great being with all my friends and their families, I would like to help us do more of those sorts of things. It would be fun to find more ways to bring our community together, and I am optimistic with all the amazing people around me, we could do this together.

Secondly I believe in treating others the way you want to be treated which is something we have always talked about at home as a family. The more people I can help to see this as clearly as I do, I think it will make our school much better community. I would love to be able to help the junior school learn this from foundation.

Finally, during my time at Livingstone I have loved giving things a go and trying new things, It is one of the things that is so great about this school that we have so many opportunities to try new things every year. I have tried: chess club, drama club, choir, aerobics, PEEP, JSC, Hoop-time, running assembly and girls football. I have had some amazing teachers here at Livingstone that I really respect, two in particular have defiantly made a huge impact to my life, with my school work and to who I am, but I wont name any names!

For the past 2 years I have volunteered every week to coach the Livingstone netball club Netsetgo program.  I really like using my leadership and organisational skills to help these younger kids. I find it a special responsibility to help these boys and girls every week.

I understand the value of commitment, I have done gymnastic now for the past 6 years and I can see how my time and hard work has paid off. I’m also a part of the Livingstone Netball Club where I play every Saturday morning bright and early!

In conclusion, I think that I would make a great 2019 Livingstone primary school, school captain.  So please vote for me Holly Freeman!
