Sunday Fun Day
Today we start Sunday Fun Day with some break bowl painting, can't wait to get them back next. After a little Lucy snooze we headed over to our cousins for some full on fun, sorry about the mess Uyenie! After some dinner it was time to head home and fall asleep in the car, dad love it when we fall asleep it makes bed time much quicker.
Happy Glaze Cafe
Today we thought we head down to Happy Glaze and paint some new breakfast bowls. Just waiting for the plain bowls to arrive.

Holly's artwork
Holly collected these shells at Queenscliff a couple of weeks ago. The other day she painted them all, arranged them on a canvas and glued them all down- then asked me to write queenscliff at the bottom! It looks great and is now hanging in the kitchen - where any masterpiece should hang!

Rollarama!
Today Holly and I met a bunch of Holly's school friends at the Caribbean Rollarama!
After choosing the right sized skates (Holly was disappointed that they were not pink!) and the laces were finally laced, we all braved the first lap, it was tedious and the word slow is an understatement! I was starting to think that this would be the longest hour and a half of my life!
But after 2 or 3 laps ... my gosh, they were off! No help needed, off on their own, still slow, but alone and not even holding on to the wall!
I was so proud of the girls, they did a great job and picked it up so quickly!
We might just all have little future rollerskating champions on our hands!!!
Holly and Tenisha
So brave! Out in the middle all alone!

A day at the Zoo
We spent a nice long day at the zoo a couple of weeks ago. It was a good day, however we went on a Sunday during school holidays so it was jam packed with people. The kids had a ball - the Lions were a big hit!

What is that thing called love?
Thursday is library day at Billanook, a favourite for Holly. She loves to pick her new book out each week and bring it home and read it in bed that night. Today she came home with a book titled 'What is that thing called love?'.
While I was waiting for Holly and Harry to settle down in bed so I could begin reading, I said to them "What does love mean?" The answers were priceless and perfect ...
Holly: "Its when you're really really really really really really (x20) best friends with someone" So true and honest, I love it!
Harry: "it 50, 250 hundred thousand love hearts" agghh!
Are they not the most gorgeous definitions of love by a 5 and almost 3 year old?

Mothers Day at Billanook
Friday morning we (the Mums) were invited (by formal invitation) to Morning Tea at Billanook.
The teachers and children put on a gourmet spread and then served us our morning tea! Holly came and asked me what I would like to eat, and then she returned with a plate full of sweet morsels. The kids all then lined up in a row and sang the most beautiful mothers day song to the tune of twinkle twinkle!
They were then called up one at a time to present us with a bouquet of home (school) made flowers in a pot and a card! A perfect start to the mothers day weekend (and why shouldn't we have a whole weekend!!!?)
*The photo is courtesy of Miss Hollie who sent in with an email last night wishing me a Happy Mothers Day!

And me too!
I'm not sure if I mentioned it or not, but just over 12 months ago, a friend of mine asked if she could use Holly as a model for a catalogue shoot for her clothing label. And me too is the brand - the clothes are gorgeous and simple and fit well and wash brilliantly. We weren't allowed to share these photos as the shoot was done 12 months in advance for their summer collection. The photos are now avalable to look at on their website, here is the link if you are interested

Holly has mastered - NO TRAINING WHEELS!!!
A few weeks ago Hol asked us to take off her training wheels, she was so determind to ride that bike by herself. She went outside just about everyday and tried and tried and then last week, it just clicked! It was so funny, she caught herself riding alone after about 2 laps of the deck and started laughing and cheering "I'M DOING IT!!!!" We couldn't have been prouder of her, and either could she!
Oh and when I say mastered, she rode all the way to Harrys kindy and back yesterday! 1 hour and 45 minute return trip!

Happy 5th Birthday Holly!
Happy Birthday Princess!
We wish you all the very best things in life -
We love you to the moon and back
xx
Today Holly Turned 5. I swear that she woke up and decided she was going to act 10 years older! We all had pancakes for breakfast together (Bill Grangers ricotta pancakes recipe - delish!), Holly was so sweet opening her presents, we gave her a watch which she had been hinting at, and Harry gave her a pair of shoes, and Lucy a book. Then Holly, Harry, Lucy and I met Grandma at the hospital where I had my 4 week check up (all positive), We then met Mia, Indie and Piper at the Tivoli Theatre for this seasons pantomime - There was an old woman who lived in a shoe! It was very funny and we laughed and sang and ate fairy bread for just over an hour.
Grandma and Pa came for dinner. I asked Holly what she would like for dinner - completely her choice, and she chose chicken drumsticks, salad and chips, and cupcakes for desert! She then spend the rest of the evening entertaining us with tap dancing, river dancing and singing! All in all a "great birthday" in her words.
Holly has been coming out with some cracking comments lately.
Today her word of the day was Frustrated. She must have used it, in context, at least 8 time, just on the way home from the theatre!
The other day very innocently, after being at the pool with Grandma, she said, "Did you know Grandmas boobs point down .... but yours point up? " - luckily Grandma has a thick skin and hopefully won't mind me repeating that one!
On Monday when our gorgeous cleaner Anna was here she headed out the front for a cigarette (Anna not Holly!) Holly quizzed her on where she was going, Anna reluctantly said she was going to smoke, Holly shocked but not missing a beat said " they are really bad for you"
Anna - replied with a spiel along the lines of, never smoke, they are addictive, don't ever touch them,
Holly - after thinking about that then said "So why do they sell them?"
Anna -Money, the government makes lots of money from them
ME - Holly you should write to the Prime Minister and tell her to stop selling them!
Holly - Ok Mummy, I will send Julia Gillard a letter and Tell her ..... she then stopped to think for a minute and said ... "Mummy and Daddy like Tony Abbot (not quite true!), but I really like Julia Gillard, so I think I will send her a letter!
Im still not sure how she became a Labour voter???

Paper chains
Yesterday Holly and I were on a mission to make paper chains. So when Harry went to bed, we set ourselves up on the couch and off we went! Holly did the whole lot herself, she folded the paper to get the creases, cut all the strips out, lined up all the sticky tape, and then put them all together. It was really fun, and now her room is bursting with more colour with chains all around!
A nice relaxing afternoon activity.
